Belinda Corpuz

Belinda is a Filipino Canadian, Toronto-based vocalist, songwriter, actor, and voice instructor. With versatility and grace, Belinda uses her unique voice to breathe life into every song she sings, drawing inspiration from a colourful array of musical influences such as jazz, free improvisation, folk, pop, classical, and musical theatre.

Belinda is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto - Faculty of Music, Jazz Studies, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance- Jazz Voice. There, she studied under the tutelage of renowned vocalists Christine Duncan and Alex Samaras, as well as some of Canada's finest jazz musicians like Mike Murley, Andrew Downing, David Occhipinti, and Chase Sanborn. Belinda is also an honour graduate of Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, where she majored in Classical Vocal music, studying privately with vocalist Lilac Cana.

Belinda performs throughout Toronto at various venues with her band Ysles, as well as Ess & Bee, the Wind & the Water, and other collaborative musical groups. Belinda has also had the opportunity to play in festivals around Ontario, including the 2013 TD Jazz Festival, MABUHAY! Philippine Festival in Toronto, the Unionville Concert Series, and the Philippine National Day Celebration in Ottawa, at the special invitation of the Philippine Ambassador, as well as various theatre productions around Toronto. church in Toronto.
